Mooncakes from Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant.
Lotus paste with single egg yolk. It was a gift from my neighbour. First, I wowed because it was from Sheraton Towers. I was eager to try but need to take pictures first. Haha. An exquisite box, with the lotuses and dragonflies printing....so classic design, for our famous poet, Li Bai. Along with the mooncakes, Sheraton Towers included a collection of Li Bai's poems to enhance the festive mood.
Visualize a bit : Under the big and round moon on this 15th, moonlight shines and reflects the shimmering movements of the waters. The dragonflies dance around the blooming lotuses and the night breeze gently carass your skin. Enchanted by the lull of the surroundings, are you inspired for poems reciting? Hmm....after we get a bite off the mooncakes. Haha.
A bite of the mooncake dismissed the 'wow'. The mooncake was quite oily. Butter from the mooncake skin and partly due to the oil from the salted egg yolk as well. Mooncake isn't a healthy food. It is always recommended to slurp tea along with it. Tea aids digestion. Luckily, we only eat it once in a year. 1 good thing about the mooncake was the lotus paste wasn't too sweet. I felt that the mooncake skin was too thin. It was more of like eating lotus paste with egg yolk.
