*This was eaten during 21-25 Feb 2008 in Macau.
I stayed in this Guia Hotel and there was this restaurant at the lobby. It was not on my itinerary to visit though. But every morning, there were a lot of people eating dimsum. The restaurant opened pretty early, around 6.30am or 7am. Partly because Guia Hotel is located at the bottom of the Guia Hill, a tourist attraction. A lot of aunties and uncles who went for morning exercise at the Guia Hill will then gathered at the restaurant to eat dim sum. So, Me and my travel companions decided to try out the dim sum there one morning.

Siew Mai
The siew mai was just so-so. No "wow". I had expected a better one.
This was good. The lotus leaf's fragrance was absorbed into the sticky rice, making the glutinous rice so nice.
The chee cheong fun were toppled with big stalks of caixin which I think looked a bit turned off. It made the dish so rough instead of appetizing. Anyway, the rice rolls were pretty thick and the sauce was salty instead of the sweet and salty version we usually have.
Century egg porridge
Ting Zai Chok
Ting Zai Chok is a porridge which contains peanuts, fish, fish maw and cuttlefish. I would still prefer our Yum Cha's rendition of Ting Zai Zhou. Their chok was not so good. The porridge was pretty watery instead of gluey.
I have forgotten what they called this. But this was pretty similar to those fried gorengs at those goreng pisang stalls. The skin was akin to the mochi skin except that it was being fried. It was filled with red bean paste. I am not a big fan of such stuffs but this was pretty good. Not too oil laden.
This is a must-try! Their carrot cake was crispy on the outside and they have got shreds of radish in it.
Char Siew Pao
This wasn't too bad as well. The skin was fluffy but not too dense. I have tried some (in singapore) which were too dense such that it will stick to your teeth.
This was so-so. 1 serving had 5 har kow. Normally, at the dim sum places in Singapore, only 3 to 4 were served.
The xiao long bao wasn't good. It was quite dry. Then again, xiao long bao wasn't their speciality.
Total bill was MOP201 so it was averaged out to be MOP67 (SGD17+)per person for the 3 of us. This was considered quite alright considering it will be more expensive if it was eaten in Singapore.
