These pictures were taken using my newly bought Canon DSLR. Woohoo....finally got a DSLR. I think the pictures were much better than those taken with my slim digicam.
Just as you may be wondering what does my title means, it meant 华宾坤昭记. It is a coffeeshop hidden in the HDB estate. I liked my fried carrot cake black, diced into small pieces, lots of egg and not oil-laden. I think the fried carrot cake from this stall was quite near to my expectations.

Some of the carrot cake fried crispy on the exterior and thank goodness it wasn't oily. I know some of the carrot cake sellers used pork lard to make their carrot cake fragrant. I wouldn't want to go for a coronary/heart bypass surgery at such a young age and never in my life. I have heard such surgery is torturous.
At $2.50 a plate, I think it was cheap and good.
The tze char stall is also cheap and good.
Claypot 3 cup chicken @$8
I have seldom seen tze char stalls with a dish cooked the 3 cup style. 3 cup chicken is a classic dish in Taiwan. It exudes a pungent spice fragrance.
In 3 cup chicken, we can find the oriental basil which explains for the pungent fragrance. Many can't accept the oriental basil because the smell is strong and the taste is almost like eating mint leaves and Chinese parsley combined.
This dish here though named 3 cup chicken was pretty much different from the Taiwanese's version. They used curry leaves instead of the oriental basil leaves. Because they didn't use the oriental basil leaves, which I think was the gist of the 3 cup style, I felt it shouldn't be named 3 cup chicken. However, the dish was delicious. Pretty much like the mongolian ribs cooked with cloves of garlic and onions.
Claypot fish head @$18
The fish head was big. With lots of vegetables, egg tofu, yam bits, mushrooms and sio bak added, this dish fed the 4 of us to the brim. It was considered very cheap.
The previous visit (no entry written) was much tastier. This time round, the chef didn't add in the fermented soy beans (maybe he had forgotten or a change of chef), the fish head lacked the oomph.
