175. Loong Fatt's Tau Sar Piah

One uncle of mine said their tau sar piah is good. They are the first to start off with the tau sar piah business along Balestier Road. With a big numerical 639 signboard outside their shop, it is not hard to locate their shop. However, the selling of their tau sia piah is done at the inner part of the shop. So, if you didn't walk into the shop, you would not know they are doing a roaring business inside.

Salty tau sar piah @$0.60 each.

Loong Fatt's tau sar piah wasn't very much to my liking. The crust was too buttery and thus resulted in the oily crust. Instead of the usual powdery bean mung filling for salty tau sar piah, their version was of a paste. I felt it was more of a mixture of sweet and salty.

I preferred the tau sar piah from the House of Tau Sar Piah, also located along Balestier Road but further down, next to the Kwan Im Temple. Their tau sar piah was not so oily and yet crispy on the exterior. However, theirs was $0.70 each.
